Bradwells Ice Cream
The award winning Bradwell’s Dairy Ice Cream is now nationally famous and can be purchased all around the United Kingdom in restaurants, supermarkets, delicatessen and retail centres including Meadowhall, Trafford, Bluewater and the Metrocentre.
It is now mass produced at the Wortley Factory in Bradwell but can still be purchased from the ice cream parlour across the road on the corner of Bridge Street which is located in the kitchen of the cottage where Grandma Hanna first thought up the delicious recipe in 1899. With no electricity in the cottage, she had ice brought especially by train from Sheffield.
The company was run by the Bradwell family for almost a century, with Hannah’s grandson Noel being in charge in the 1960’s. However, in 1992 the business was sold to Lawrence Wasskow.
